HeadYafit CohenPh.D.

Our department is committed to transforming agriculture by developing cutting-edge, profitable, and sustainable practices. Our pioneering research encompasses precision agriculture, remote and proximal sensing, advanced sensors, nanotechnology, and information technologies such as GIS and decision-support systems. We also excel in electronics, optics, control systems, advanced mechanics, robotics, and data-science. Additionally, we actively seek international research cooperation to further enhance and share our innovative solutions globally.

Activities:

  • Precision, digital and smart Agriculture
  • Thermal imaging for precision Irrigation
  • UAV remote sensing for weed detection and for cover crops
  • Exploiting custom micro and nano-electronics for biological applications
  • Bioelectronic ‘nose’ devices for pathogen biomarker detection
  • Development of low-cost hyperspectral and thermal sensors
  • Employing nondestructive techniques and methods, such as near-infrared, Raman Spectroscopy, computer vision, and biosensors, to identify and measure internal and external quality indicators of agricultural products.
  • Developing ground and UAV robotic flee for various agricultural management
  • Decision support tools using data and citizen science approaches
  • Applying information technology including GIS to improve agricultural practices

Our goal is to advance profitable and sustainable agriculture by employing cutting edge technologies and methodologies
