Welcome to the Department of Poultry and Aquaculture.

The Department of Poultry and Aquaculture works to ensure a steady supply of high-quality chicken and fish products while improving production efficiency and maintaining the sustainability and welfare of the animals. Our researchers address fundamental and applied questions related to the response and adaptation of livestock to environmental constraints, nutrition and metabolism, embryonic development, genetics, and animal care and welfare.

Our researchers are committed to sustainable, efficient poultry and fish production, prioritizing animal welfare.
We tackle industry challenges with innovative research.
Our studies aim to advance agriculture and tackle pressing issues in the field.
Key research areas include:

  • Developing innovative methods to enhance animal welfare.
    Improving resistance to environmental constraints.
  • Investigating mechanisms that control agriculturally important traits.
  • Studying metabolic processes in poultry and fish to boost feed efficiency, growth, and durability.
  • Researching embryonic development in poultry and fish.
  • Developing advanced techniques for genetic manipulation in poultry and fish.
