Laboratory for Physiology, Genetics, and Management of Poultry
The research lab focuses on whole-animal aspects from the embryonic stage to the end of the growth or laying period of farm poultry. The research emphasizes studying the genetic and physiological aspects of sustainable poultry production, aiming to understand the molecular pathways involved in adaptation and organismal adjustment to changing environmental conditions, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare.
Our research addresses critical challenges arising from the poultry industry, particularly linking genetic selection for productivity with physiological syndromes and the inability of poultry to maintain dynamic balance, which affects the allocation of energy between maintenance and growth.
