A student is required for research on the control of leaf senescence and fruit ripening

A student is required (Master’s or Ph.D. candidates are possible) for research on the control of leaf senescence and fruit ripening.

Research topic:
Ripening and senescence of agricultural produce.

Nature of the research:
Understanding how the formation (biosynthesis) of the plant hormone, ethylene, which controls fruit ripening and leaf senescence , is regulated by autophagy, an evolutionarily conserved intracellular molecular process responsible for recycling cellular waste.

The research is conducted on tomato and banana fruits and the model plant Arabidopsis.
