The department consists of research teams engaged in a variety of fields such as environmental engineering, water treatment, wastewater and solid waste in agriculture, energy production and use of solar energy, engineering technologies for the application of plant and animal damage control, sensing systems, industrial engineering – human and animal factors in agriculture, decision support systems in agriculture, robotics, precision livestock farming, aquaculture and applications of precision and digital agriculture.

The Department of Growing, Production and Environmental Engineering includes nine research laboratories focused on developing state-of-the-art engineering technologies and conducting applied research to promote agriculture and related industries in production engineering, environment, breeding systems, food security and handling of agricultural produce.
