We are looking for a curious and motivated student who wants to learn more about the “black box” called soil and is not afraid to get their hands dirty.
Our research focuses on understanding the processes that organic waste materials undergo when added to soil, with an emphasis on plant nutrition — including the supply of nitrogen, phosphorus, and other essential nutrients — as well as environmental impacts, such as greenhouse gas emissions versus soil improvement.
In the lab, we combine field and laboratory experiments with advanced biochemical measurements.
In our lab, we routinely perform chemical analyses, including ICP-AES, spectral analyses, and extracellular enzymatic activity measurements. We do not specialize in molecular tools, but we are happy to collaborate in order to incorporate such approaches into the research.
Qualified? Please send your CV to Dr. David Yalin via email: yalin@volcani.agri.gov.il
