The laboratory specializes in studying the molecular basis of plant–pathogen interactions, with a focus on bacterial pathogens. Research projects in the lab include:
• Molecular and physiological characterization of plant resistance mechanisms
• Identification of host target proteins of secreted bacterial virulence factors
• Elucidation of bacterial regulatory pathways required for virulence and host adaptation
• Identification of factors that determine host specialization
