Our laboratory is at the forefront of Precision Agriculture, bridging the gap between traditional field agronomy and advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI). We specialize in the genetic and phenotypic optimization of Barley (Hordeum vulgare), leveraging Cytonuclear variation and high-resolution Hyperspectral Imaging to decode complex plant traits. By integrating multi-omic data with Machine Learning, we develop robust predictive models designed to forecast crop yield and grain quality. Our mission is to provide data-driven solutions for the brewing industry and the emerging plant-based protein sector, transforming raw agricultural data into actionable insights for sustainable industrial applications.
Requirements:
โข B.Sc. Degree: A completed Bachelorโs degree in Plant Sciences, Agronomy, Biology, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field
โข Programming: Proficiency or basic experience in at least one programming language (e.g., R or Python) for statistical data analysis and visualization.
โข Agronomic Fieldwork: A willingness to engage in hands-on research, including data collection in experimental fields and greenhouses, alongside computational lab work.

Leading advanced field and greenhouse experiments, including performing crosses, precise phenotypic characterization, and managing research harvest operations. โข Acquiring a deep understanding of plant genetics, with an emphasis on investigating cytonuclear variation and its impact on agronomic traits. โข Developing practical skills in analyzing large-scale (Big Data) genomic and phenomic datasets. โข Designing and implementing Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models for accurate yield and seed quality predictions.
