The lab is engaged in the development of optical biosensors/bioassays that will transform from a laboratory-based research into a real on-site โlab-on-chipโ platforms for addressing problems in fields of agriculture, animal diagnostics, food safety and environmental monitoring and detection. We are currently working on heavy metals, mycotoxins, neurotoxins (i.e., botulinum), specific bacteria strains detection in real matrices (water, milk, plasma). Weโre also developing combined spectroscopic platforms (refractometry and SERS โ all-in-one), using diverse nanomaterials for signal enhancement.
Requirements: Exact sciences/life sciences, willingness and ability to learn new areas of knowledge and innovative methods, good interpersonal relations, initiative and high motivation.
Experience with: material science, semiconductors processing, optical sensors, nanomaterials and thin films, microfluidics, surface chemistry and biological interfaces.
