Our laboratory operates at the interface of materials science and biology. Our goal is to introduce advanced approaches from material science into food science, plant research, biomedicine, and agriculture. Our core expertise lies in carbohydrates, polysaccharides, and saccharide-bearing materials (glycosides). The research in our lab is grounded in the rational design of advanced materials with broad scientific and practical application. In this specific research we are engaging plant organelles embedded in polysaccharide matrix to form new active biomaterials.
Requirements:
– Degree in Biology/Biochemistry and/or Plant Science
– Advantage for applicants with experience in plant molecular biology/plant genetics/ glycobiology/ plant rea-time imaging
– PhD for research associates and postdocs, MSc and BSc degree for PhD and MSc applicants correspondingly

The topics in the lab combine basic and applied research with the possibility of collaborating with the industry. The student can study numerous methods at the edge of material science and biology, and equipment (NMR, FTIR, GPC, TGA, DSC, SEM, AFM). A pleasant atmosphere is also suggested
