The Pollen Ecology Laboratory seeks a masters student.
This study investigates the irreversible binding mechanisms between leaf proteins and polyphenols that occur during the protein extraction process from the leaves of the highly valued plant, Moringa oleifera.
Elucidating these underlying mechanisms is critical, as it will facilitate the development of optimized extraction protocols for producing proteins with desirable functional properties for the food industry.
The student will be able to master the extraction and purification of proteins, and characterization of secondary metabolites using GC and LC.
