
Prof. Nahum Snapir was born in Tel Aviv in 1934. He was a member of the Department of Animal Sciences at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment in Rehovot, and specialized in poultry research.

Prof. Snapir was appointed Senior Lecturer in 1971, Associate Professor in 1974, and Full Professor in 1978.

He served as Head of the Department of Animal Sciences, Chairman of the Teaching Committee, and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.

In 1995, he was elected to the position of Head of the Agricultural Research Organization and served in this role until 1999.

He retired in 2002.
