Holds a degree in plant biology from the Hebrew University, Faculty of Agriculture. In 2022, he returned from a postdoctoral fellowship at the Salk Institute in the U.S. and established a lab focusing on tomato genetics at the Volcani Institute.
Education
2003 – 2006
B.Sc. in Plant Sciences and Biotechnology at The Robert H. Smith Institute of Plant
Sciences and Genetics in Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Hebrew University of
Jerusalem. Graduated in excellence (cum laude magna)
2007 – 2013
Ph.D. in Plant Sciences at The Robert H. Smith Institute of Plant Sciences and
Genetics in Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Title of thesis: Characterization of the morphogenetic activity of the leaf margin and
the role of KNOXI and LANCEOLATE proteins in promoting this activity.
Supervision by: prof. Naomi Ori
2013 – 2022
Postdoctoral position at Salk Institute, with Prof. Joanne Chory
Research subject: Regulation of plant growth, Light signaling, Shade Avoidance
Syndrome.
Research Interests
We aim to reveal the key signaling pathways and mechanisms that link information from the environment to changes in plant growth and development.
We are curious about how plants regulate the tradeoff between growth and defense and how they process multiple signals at the same time.
