Biography
Dr. Pazit Con holds a B.Sc. in Marine Biology from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Animal Sciences from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
She completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Munich, where she investigated ligand-binding mechanisms of bacterial periplasmic proteins using fluorescent protein labeling and advanced spectroscopic techniques, primarily single-molecule FRET.

Research Interests
Research in the lab integrates molecular approaches with work on live fish to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying energy production processes in fish. We examine the function of key proteins involved in intracellular metabolic pathways and explore how their activity shapes and regulates the metabolic state of the organism under varying environmental conditions. In addition, we employ spectroscopic measurements of fluorescent proteins to monitor intracellular metabolites in real time and to track their dynamic fluctuations in response to environmental change.
Our overarching goal is to advance a comprehensive understanding of how cellular processes translate into whole-organism performance — knowledge that forms the basis for developing innovative and sustainable practices in aquaculture.
