Biography

Growing up farming on Israel’s northern Mediterranean shore, I pursued agronomy studies to extend my agricultural knowledge. After expanding the family olive farm, I committed my academic work to sustain tree crop farming in variable climatic conditions. I specialized in farming resource allocation and focused my research on mitigating climatic effects on tree crop production in arid lands.
Now, I live in Israel’s northern Negev and focus on intensive dryland tree-crop farming.

Education

  • 2004-2007
    B.Sc. in Agronomy (HUJI)
  • 2007-2013
    Ph.D. in Biotechnology (BGU)

Research Interests

As a whole-plant physiologist, in the Fruit Tree Sciences Department, Institute of Plant Sciences, I aim to bridge the gap between fundamental science and real-world agriculture. I develop innovative tools, from analytical chemistry to open-source programming, to understand how plants respond to environmental changes. These tools guide the development of sustainable farming practices that improve yields, minimize climatic impacts, and ultimately, put science to work on the farm.
