Nicolas Brukman holds a B.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and Biological Chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and performed a postdoctoral training at the Faculty of Biology at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Since 2025, Nicolas has been a Principal Investigator at the Volcani Institute, leading the Laboratory of Fertilization and Reproductive Biology.
Our research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of fertilization and early embryonic development: how sperm and egg recognize each other and undergo a controlled fusion process to create a viable embryo. We integrate basic research with applied science aimed at improving fertility and productivity in the dairy industry. Our projects include reproductive techniques in vivo and in vitro, work with gametes, cell cultures, microscopy, and a variety of biochemical and molecular approaches.
