Biography
Hagai Yasuor is a Senior Researcher at the ARO. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Agriculture of the Hebrew University. His main area of research focuses on crop plants physiology under abiotic stress. He is currently studying the effect of heat stress on vegetable reproductive development, with special attention to the role of plant hormone and plant nutrition in flower and fruit development and fruit quality under abiotic stress. His research attempts to improve vegetable fruit set and quality under high temperature stress.

-
1998-2001
M.Sc., Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
-
1995-1998

Research Interests
Yasuor’s Lab research focused on vegetable crop growing under protected environment (tomatoes and peppers) and in the open field (legumes). Understanding the factors which limits vegetables development under suboptimal conditions (temperatures, water quality and deficiency, etc.) and their effects on fruit set and fruit quality. How abiotic stress such as extreme temperatures influence hormonal homeostasis in flower and fruit organ during development (Genome editing, metabolomics, transcriptomic). Elucidating the role of micro and macro elements (plant nutrition) in flower development, fruit set and fruit quality (N, Ca, Zn and Mn).
