I’m a plant ecologist and rangeland researcher, in the Department of agroecology and natural resources, Institute of Plant Sciences, my current research focuses on sustainable grazing managements and vegetation ecology. Our studies are carried out along the Mediterranean region of Israel. My lab holds two main offices and lab sites, in Newe Ya’ar research center at the Israel valley and in Karei Deshe experimental range station in the Upper Galilee (1,400 ha). Studies at Karei Deshe links aspects of nature conservation with agroecological and range managements.
Research Interests
Our lab and field work examines the links between grazing, soil resource availability, plant functions, community structure and ecosystem functions.
Research Areas
Sustainable rangeland management
Dynamics of perennial and annual, legumes and grasses
Reorganization and functioning of vegetation in water limited environments
