Biography
Our Research Focus
We are a research group focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms behind the development of fleshy fruits in Solanaceae species, such as tomatoes and peppers. Our goal is to identify the genetic factors that contribute to the establishment of fruit fleshiness and translate this knowledge into practical solutions. By doing so, we aim to improve postharvest fruit preservation while maintaining or enhancing the nutritional quality, benefiting both growers and consumers.

Research Interests
Our research group focuses on understanding and characterizing the genetic mechanisms that regulate the development of anatomical and physiological traits defining fleshy fruits, such as tomatoes and peppers.
We believe that a deeper understanding of these processes will enable us to propose sustainable solutions for crop preservation (extending the shelf life of fresh fruits and vegetables) and improving their quality traits.
