Research Interests

Research Areas:

  • Study the role of plants’ T2 family ribonucleases (T2-RNases) in senescence and programmed cell death processes in plants, as well as their involvement in developmental processes and responses to biotic/abiotic stresses.
  • Physiological, genetic, and molecular aspects of chilling/cold sensitivity/tolerance in fresh agricultural produce during postharvest storage – developing biotechnological and genetic approaches to create varieties where the development of chilling injuries and resulting food losses is inhibited during storage.
  • Utilization of genomic editing to delay ripening and softening processes of fruit after harvest and during storage.
