Welcome to the Official Seed Testing Laboratory Website!
The Seed Laboratory is the Official Seed Testing Laboratory of the State of Israel. The laboratory's mandate is to test the quality of the seeds intended for local marketing and export (vegetables, field crops, flowers and tree seeds).
The following seed testing services are provided: purity (including identification of weeds/other seeds); germination, viability and vigour tests and seed health assays for fungal, bacterial, and viral pathogens.
The laboratory is engaged both in scientific research and in scientific services related to maintenance and improvement of seed quality, such as development and adaptation of new testing methods etc.
The Laboratory has been an International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) member since its establishment and is accredited by ISTA and by the Israel Laboratory Accreditation Authority (ISRAC) according to ISO/IEC 17025.
