The Kendel Project focuses on integrating the research and engineering disciplines of animal physiology, technology and commercial knowledge.
Physiology:
The Institute of Agricultural Engineering and the Animal Research Institute have developed an extensive knowledge base. Much of it encompasses experimental results that validated assumptions about the correlation between indices collected by sensors and diagnosis of the exact physiological status of an individual animal.
Technology / Agricultural Engineering:
Building efficient, robust, reliable and durable sensory systems operating under tough environment conditions of the livestock, interfacing with existing management systems on farms, local management practices and decision-making processes by farmers.
Business opportunities
The world's demand for animal products (meat, milk, eggs) is rapidly increasing, due to changing human consumption habits in Asia. Consequently, farming technology is now a booming business. In order to guide our research accordingly, the lab's staff includes two experienced business development advisors. They work directly with the researchers, examining and considering the projects together.
