The Sustainable Ruminant Production Lab seeks Master’s students/ Doctorate for A cellular model for elucidating the potential of Moringa oleifera to attenuate skeletal muscle atrophy research 🔍

This study will evaluate the ergogenic potential (enhancing muscle energy metabolism) and anti-sarcopenic effects (attenuating muscle degradation) of Moringa oleifera leaf extracts using the C2C12 muscle cell line model.

Requirements: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Animal Sciences, Biology, or Life Sciences, with a background in cell and molecular biology. Experience in cell culture is an advantage.

What will you gain? Hands-on experience in 👇 🔬 Cell culture techniques using the C2C12 muscle cell line. 🔬 hashtag#Fluorescence hashtag#microscopy – imaging and image analysis. 🔬 PCR / RT-qPCR – quantification of hashtag#gene expression related to antioxidants, atrophic markers, and inflammatory markers. 🔬 Seahorse XF Analyzer – measurement of cellular metabolic rate and mitochondrial activity. 🔬 #Metabolomics (LC-MS) – identification of bioactive compounds in moringa extracts.
