The Michaeli Lab is looking for Master’s and Ph.D. students to investigate: 1. How aging is regulated in plants by autophagy? 2. How do pathogenic fungi exploit plant defense mechanisms to infect them? 馃崉

We explore how plant cells age and how they counteract aging, combining fundamental research with the development of technologies that have real-world impact. We focus on autophagy, a central cellular recycling mechanism, and its interaction with ethylene, a key hormone controlling ripening and senescence.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree for MSc students and a Master’s degree for doctoral students, in biology or agricultural sciences.

You will get experience with: Molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, and advanced microscopy
