Our lab investigates the genetic mechanisms that enable plants to adjust their development to changing environmental conditions, using stomatal development in tomato and Arabidopsis as a model system. We study how cis-regulatory elements (CREs) in promoters, introns, and UTRs regulate gene expression in response to environmental cues and influence plant development. Our research combines CRISPR-Cas9, developmental genetics, regulatory mapping, and quantitative imaging to uncover the molecular basis of plant developmental plasticity and environmental responses.
Requirements: M.Sc. degree in Plant Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related field. Background and experience in molecular biology and/or plant genetics, an advantage. Strong interest in plant development and environmental responses. High motivation, scientific curiosity, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
