The Applied Optics and Machine Learning Laboratory at the Volcani Center, Rishon LeZion, is looking for a Master’s or Ph.D. student for research at the forefront of Agro-Tech

Want to develop the measurement tools of tomorrow? Our research combines optics, spectroscopy, algorithms, and machine learning, aiming to develop innovative methods for the molecular characterization of agricultural produce. As part of the research, we will develop optical measurement systems and advanced data processing methods, with immense application potential in the agricultural world as well as in the medical field.

What will you do and learn with us?

  • Building and characterizing advanced optical and spectroscopic systems.

  • Developing algorithms and implementing machine learning models.

  • Analyzing complex data and solving technological problems from the root.

Job Requirements:

  • Academic background: Graduate students with a background (even if limited) in optics within their studies – Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering faculties.

  • Technological affinity: Programming expertise is not required, but a good approach to computers, as well as the ability to work with and understand code combining AI tools and Vibe Coding, is necessary.

  • Character traits: Ability to learn and work independently, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • No prior research laboratory experience is required.

The research will take place at the Volcani Center campus in Rishon LeZion.
