The department develops methods for pest control, prioritizing environmental sustainability. We aim to reduce chemical pesticide use, promoting biopesticides, pheromones, and natural enemies. We also study bee biology and ecology, applying integrated pest management. Furthermore, we disseminate and implement our research knowledge and resources for the benefit of both national and global agricultural and industrial sectors

Activities:

  • Conducting research on sustainable pest management strategies.
  • Developing and testing environmentally friendly pesticides and biological controls.
  • Studies the biology and ecology of bees while implementing integrated pest management strategies.
  • Collaborating with agricultural and industrial sectors to implement integrated pest management solutions.

Our primary objective is to minimize reliance on harmful and persistent chemical pesticides, replacing them with environmentally friendly alternatives such as biopesticides, pheromones, natural enemies, and other innovative approaches. Additionally, the department studies the biology and ecology of bees while implementing integrated pest management strategies.
Furthermore, it disseminates and implements the knowledge and resources it generates for the agricultural and industrial sectors, both nationally and globally.
