Pleiotropic mutation in a tendril TCP gene underlies the yield-enhancing multiple-flowering trait in summer squash

Dr. Amit Gur‘s paper demonstrated the discovery of a causative yield-increasing sequence variant and its practical utilization in breeding.

The findings provide a molecular target for the creation of high-yielding, multiple-flowering summer squash cultivars through marker-assisted breeding or precise genome editing.  Read further here https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/tpj.70813
