  • Control of vegetative growth of palms and other crop trees
  • Fertilization and fruit setting of date palms
  • Mango breeding
  • Anthocyanin biosynthetic pathways and color development of fruits

Current Research Projects:

  • Molecular analyses of soma-clonal variation in date palm and banana for early identification and control of off-types generation.
  • Inhibition of excessive trunk growth in date palms.
  • Use of plant growth regulators to expand date harvesting season and increasing fruit size.
  • Development of a date palm database for improvement of date quality.
  • Breeding of elite Mango cultivars.
