1968-1971    M.Sc. in Agriculture ("with excellence") at The Hebrew University, of Jerusalem, Israel. Major field of studies: Plant protection.                                      

 Title of thesis: "Characterisation and the biological activity of an antiviral factor induced in plants by viral infection".

1971-1975    Ph.D. in Agriculture at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Title of thesis: "The Chemical Nature and The Biological Activity of An Antiviral Factor Developing in TMV Infected Nicotiana glutinosa".                          

1984-1985    Sabbatical leave at, University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, The Biophysics Laboratory with Prof. P. Ahalquist. Research Subject: "Mutation Analysis of the BMV Genome".

Awards and Scholarships

1995   Recipient of ‘Mashov' prize for the development of photo-selective lastics    as a tool to impede epidemics of insect pests and viral diseases in protected crops. The prize is awarded by the chief scientist of ministry of agriculture to indicate a special contribution to Agriculture.

1997    Recepient of Agrexco Agricultural Export Co. Ltd. prize for contribution to the Israeli Export of vegetable crops.

‏2005     Award of honor for  a significant  professional support in plant virology. By Zeraim Gedera, The Seed Company, Israel.
