Research Scientist, Plant Physiologist

Research Interests / Job description
Stress physiology in vegetable.
* Processes involved in reproductive organs abortion in greenhouse-grown vegetables.
*Assimilate partitioning and metabolism in relation to abscission of flowers and fruitlets under adverse temperature and light conditions.
*Fruit production under environmental stresses.
Study of mechanisms underlying fruit physiological disorders:
Fruit shape malformation
Fruit skin cracking
Fruit Blossom-end rot
*Study of the physiological, biochemical and molecular aspects of incompatibility in vegetable grafting.
*Interactions between plant hormones IAA, ethylene and ABA in stress tolerance.
*Interactions between environmental stresses and oxidative processes in the plants.
