The Central Zionist Archives

Flora of Israel online - Project of Prof. Avinoam Danin.

Freedom of Information - Governmental publications, including statistical data.

Israel Meteorological Data - Includes the possibility to produce historical reports in different formats.

Israel Science and Technology homepage - This is the national database and directory of science and technology related sites in Israel. Information is located by browsing the categories or by typing a keyword in the search box.

National Photo Collection

Ornamental Plants Index: site named after Ruth Benjamin - This site is divided into articles and categories concerning gardening. It gives concise descriptions of all the ornamental plants in Israel. The information is professional and precise, and it is written in Hebrew.
Every few weeks they publish information or tips relevant especially to the amateur gardener.

PPIS Pesticides Data Bank - The database of the Plant Protection and Inspection Services contains information on safe and proper usage of the approximately 900 pesticides registered in Israel.

AGRICOLA (AGRICultural OnLine Access) - a database produced by the National Agricultural Library (NAL), consists of two subsets of records. The first contains citations for journal articles that include abstracts. The second consists of bibliographic records describing monographs, serials, audiovisual materials and online content from around the world. AGRICOLA records describe publications and resources encompassing all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and farming systems, agricultural economics, extension and education, food and human nutrition, and earth and environmental sciences.

American Doctoral Dissertations - The enhanced database includes more than 153,000 theses and dissertations in total, including 70,000 new citations for theses and dissertations from 1902 to the present.

The new citations include a link to access the full text, when available, via the Institutional Repository where the thesis or dissertation is housed such as OhioLINK, Rochester Institute of Technology and North Carolina State University.

A free resource accessible to all researchers, American Doctoral Dissertations is available on the EBSCOhost® platform, and the content is available via EBSCO Discovery ServiceTM.

ASABE Technical Information Library - Includes all recent technical documents published by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. Anyone can view the abstracts. Access to the full text is via ASABE membership or site license.

BiologyBrowser - Database of free biology resources for researchers, librarians, educators and students. Produced by Thomson Scientific.

CORE - Enables access to fulltext research papers in open access journals and repositories.

Dimensions - Grants, publications, citations, clinical trials and patents.

 GreenFILE -   EBSCO Publishing announced the release of GreenFILE, a bibliographic database of information about environmental concerns. Searching this database is available at http://www.greeninfoonline.com/.

 INIS (International Nuclear Information System) - Since April 2009, the database is available to the public, free of charge. It includes scientific and technical information in various domains, from nuclear engineering to applications in agriculture, health and industry. It has over 3 million records and over 200,000 full-text documents (reports, theses, patents, preprints). 

OAIster (the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting)A union catalog of digital resources maintained by the University of Michigan. Digital resources include items such as scanned books and articles, electronic texts, audio files, images, movies and statistical files.

  • PlexDB - is a unified gene expression resource for plants and plant pathogens.

Plantstress - Site conceived by Dr. Abraham Blum from Volcani Center. The purpose of the site is to serve as a consultation facility and a source for professional update on the most important issues of plant environmental (abiotic) stress.

PubMed (Entrez) of the National Center Biotechnology Information - Entrez is the integrated, text-based search and retrieval system used at NCBI for the major databases, including PubMed, Nucleotide and Protein Sequences, Protein Structures, Complete Genomes, Taxonomy, and others.

USDA National Nutrient Database - A product of the Nutrient Data Laboratory.

WorldWideScience.org - a global science gateway comprised of national and international scientific databases and portals. Multilingual WorldWideScience.org provides real-time searching and translation of globally-dispersed multilingual scientific literature.

 CIA - The World Factbook

 

Common Chemistry - A CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) web resource that enables a free search of chemical materials - by name or by CAS number.

GIS Bibliographic Database (by ESRI) - Enables free search of information pertaining to GIS literature in books, articles, reports and proceedings, from 1950 onwards. Some of the material is available in full-text.

Global Agricultural Research Archive - The initiative of this database is to archive agricultural knowledge on behalf of developing countries around the world.
