Here you can read and download pages of e-books that were purchased by our library - in accordance with the terms of service. Usage is restricted to 1 person at a time.
Please install the Active X component if requested.

The best way to view and download our ebooks is to enter the ebrary site at: http://site.ebrary.com/lib/volcani/home.action

Please click on the "sign in" link at the top right of the screen. You are requested to type your username and password. If you are not registered yet, please click on "create an account", fill in the requested details and then sign in. 

After signing in, you will get the screen: "Welcome to ebrary!"
A few lines below click on "Browse all titles" in order to view all the titles that are available.
As a registered user, you will be able to copy, print etc.

If you want to browse a certain e-book, please click on its title.

Now you can perform various actions with the "Infotools" menu (at the left hand side) - in accordance with the publisher's terms.

If you wish to download a whole chapter or a whole e-book, click on the "Download" button.
- For downloading 1 chapter or a range of pages (up to 40 at a time), you will need a standard Adobe PDF version. Please select your option under "Standard image-PDF format". Then confirm by OK and follow the instructions you get.

- For downloading a whole e-book (for 7 days) you will need a special version of PDF - please download "Adobe Digital Editions", available free online.
Go back to the "Download options" screen and click the button under "Special format. The entire document". Confirm by OK and follow the instructions you get.
When you have the book on your computer, you can perform various actions (copying, printing).
Please select the text you wish to copy/print, then click the Reading menu at the top left, and then choose Copy or Print.

An important note about page numbers: there is a physical page number written on the book's page and there is a logical page number given by ebrary/Adobe Digital Editions. When specifying the pages you want to print/download, type the logical page number (written on the right hand side, in parentheses) .
The best quality of printing is achieved in the Adobe Digital Editions.

You also need to be aware of the print limits set by Adobe. If you open any title in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), select the Reading menu, and then go to Item Info, you will see a section titled "Permissions set by the publisher." Here is where it shows "Allow printing:##". Whether you select one word, or the entire page, that counts as 1 page according to Adobe. Each book is different, and the only way to tell the limit is to open the book in ADE and check the Item Info.

After 7 days The e-book will be automatically deleted from your computer.
If you wish to return it earlier than 7 days, enter Adobe Digital Editions on your computer and click the left icon on the top - "Go to library view". Now click the small arrow on the left of the e-book ("Item options") and choose "Return borrowed item".
